Thank you for visiting ourbooherfamily.com. This site was created so that friends and family of David and Danielle Booher can be updated on the new arrival of Madelyn Leeane, born July 21,2009 weighing 4lb. 12oz. We hope you enjoy the posts and pictures!

Getting Better

Madelyn is getting better and better at moving around.  She is really learning fast… it is funny it took so long for her to even try and now it seems that everyday she is doing something new.  A video that I did not post was her getting on all fours… and then these two are from today.  And on a side note I am really starting to wonder why we buy toys … as you can see there are a bunch of toys on the ground with her and she goes for David’s Mac (thankfully in its case) and the Mountain Dew bottle!

10 Months Old!

Last Friday Madelyn turned 10 months old.  Crazy I know!!  To keep with our tradition here is her monthly update…

Since we did not have a doctors appt this month, I weighed her on our scale and it said she was about 25.5 pounds.  Her reflux is getting a bit better each day.  She still has good and bad days, but one thing that is quite noticeable is that she does not have as many little spit-ups through out the day!!  We still have to wear our bibs because those big spit-ups are still with us and boy oh boy are they big!!  We are praying everyday that soon it will leave completely.  Also in a few weeks she meets with the specialist and I am praying that we will be able to introduce dairy into her diet and see how she tolerates it!!  I will post an update when we get closer to the visit.

This month she…

  • learned how to put puffs and cherios into her own mouth!!!  She still has a hard time with fruit becuase they are slippery but snacks she has down!
  • She is finally getting on all fours for a few minutes at a time!  Now all she has to do is figure how to move and I am pretty sure she is never going to stop going!
  • She can balance to stand for a bit holding on to her table.
  • She knows how to put her arms up when you say, “arms up” or “how big is madelyn” or ask where Jesus is… (”up in heaven and in my heart”)
  • Peek-a-boo is still our favorite game and we still hate to be left alone!!
  • She is sleeping great at night and getting better and better for naps.  She goes down for the night between 6:30 and 7:15 and wakes up between 6:15 and 6:30 but plays on her own till 7 when I get her up.  And she is napping between 1 and 1.5 hours for both her am and pm naps and every now and then she will go for 2 hours.  (Those are special days :-) )

She is just a joy and loves to play with you and smile and be loved on!  Here she is with Dave the Dolphin…

Spring Catch-Up

With Spring time beginning things have been a bit crazy around here the last few weeks and I have slacked on blogging. I thought that I would post a few pictures from the past couple of weeks as a little catch-up.

Daddy bought Madelyn a few toys the other day… He was very happy that she loved them, in fact they are her favorite toys to play with in the mornings after she gets up.

We have had a few really nice days, and Madelyn LOVES being outside.  I started to bring her exersaucer outside with us and she loves it.

The other day she felt the grass for the first time as well. (Please ignore my ugly leg as it was the day after surgery.)

I just love those feet.

And to end our recap… here is Madelyn this morning… I love our happy morning times together and you really just have to love that hair!!

Moving Just a Bit

Many have asked if Madelyn is crawling.  She is not there yet but the last few days has made a little step towards getting there.  She has just been rolling to where she wants to go and recently has been getting quite agitated when she can not reach a toy that is in front of her.  She figured out that if she goes to her side and moves a leg then she can move forward just a bit!  Here she is this morning trying to get the amazing Tylenol bottle.  (Regular toys are just not enough)

Our tooth!

The other day I finally got some pictures of our new tooth.  It appeared last Saturday (4/17).  I was very excited to see Madelyn get a tooth, now the excitment has completly worn off due to all of the pain she is in.  She also has gotten a lovely runny nose which does not help the matter.  Hopefully it will not last long for the munchkin.

This next picture I just had to throw in but here is a little explaination… this is from later that day when David came home.  Once David is home Madelyn has to be right next to him and of course throughout the day Toby has to be right next to one of us so that he will never miss out on any fun.  So after a little while of playing here is what I found… I don’t think that Madelyn minded that David was watching tv, she was having fun all by herself just sitting next to him.

Wow … nine months old!

Today is Madelyn’s nine month birthday.  She has been learning more and more everyday.  At her doctors appointment last Friday she weighed 23lbs 2 oz (98%) and was 28.5 inches long (88%).  Her head is still huge at 18.3 inches (98%).  No wonder we needed the 2-4 year old sunglasses!! :-) This past month we finally moved her crib matress all the way down to flat!  She loves it as she moves all around during the night.  Her reflux is still with us :-( but we are praying that it will be over soon and so thankful for her medications!  Here is her list for this month…

  • Madelyn now sits all on her own – and loves it.  She would much rather be sitting than on her back or belly… I can’t blame her!
  • She just cut a tooth two days ago and another one is looking like it is on its way… I will try to get a picture
  • She has been saying… da-da , ma-ma and ba-ba.  Now she really does not know what she is saying yet but loves to blabble especially when we are in the car!
  • She learned how to high-five (thanks Grandma-Di) and it is the most gentle and loving high-five I have ever seen.
  • She just started to get frustrated when she can’t roll to toys that are in front of her.  She will try to move her legs but just ends up going backwards further from her toy… but at least she is trying to figure out how to go forward!
  • She is still a fabulous eater… and mangos remain our favorite food.  As long as I mix the not so favorite foods with mangos she will eat it right up.

Here are her dolphin pictures from today…

Happy nine months munchkin… we love you!!

Exploring Girl

Madelyn has been rolling to get where she wants to go.  She always wants to go either off the carpet to the hardwoods or get to her jumper.  Well the other day we let her go and sure enough she rolled right under the jumper.  She was very happy with herself.

Friends

We are very blessed to have some friends to spend time with during the day.  Recently our friends Adam and Christina had a new little boy, Carter.  Yesterday Christina, Landon and baby Carter came over for ice cream and to play.  We are hoping that when Madelyn gets a bit bigger her and Landon will become friends, now she just watches him very intently.  I think that deep inside she is wanting to be able to run like he can!

We tried to get a picture, but not too sucessful… maybe next time I will be able to get all of their faces in one picture.

Look-a-likes

Last Saturday I was able to go to a wedding shower for my good friend Nicole while daddy stayed home with miss madelyn.  They had a great day and David even walked her all the way to the hardware store down the block.

So many people say that these two look alike so here you go… some pictures before their outing
