Wow… the last few weeks have been very busy and seem to have flown by.  Miss Madelyn had her first birthday and birthday party that I will post all about in a but, but for now here is a movie that my dad made of pictures and video he took at her party.

Madelyn has always seemed to have an obsession with sunglasses.  She just loves them.  I have learned to bring my old pairs with us so that they can get dropped and I will not have to worry.  Well, tonight my dad caught her on video with her love!

On the 4th Madelyn and I took the big trip to Dallas Texas to visit my sister Jenny and her family.  My mom was very nice and came with us and was a big help in the trip!  We had so much fun.  It was great to see the kids interact with eachother.  David was just fabulous with Madelyn… the first day he took about 15 minutes and showed her all of his toys.  Needless to say she LOVED him.  Now that we are home when we pass his picture in the house she gets excited and will try to say his name!  Madelyn also loved watching Reagan.  It took a little while to notice eachother but when they did it was very cute.  Thanks Clarks for letting us visit … we had a TON of fun and miss you all the more!!

The first day we went to their “pool” or waterpark as I would call it.  One pool had a shore that was perfect for the babies…

And the bounce house was a blast… lets face it who doesn’t love those places…

And now we can’t wait till August when Jenny and the kids come to visit us!!

The other night Granka (my dad) took some excellent pictures of Miss Madelyn. It is hard to believe that these were taken just before bedtime outside of Five Guys!! These are just a few of the great pictures… thanks dad we love them!
   

As per a request from Madelyn’s Grandparents… here is a video of Madelyn eating yogurt for the first time.  Pardon my poor video taking… feeding and taking a video can be challenging…

And for those who may wonder… she is starting to like the yogurt more and more every day!!

This was David’s first offical Father’s Day.  It turned out to be a beautiful day!  We took Madelyn’s little baby pool out and she LOVED it.  Even when David added cold water from the hose … she was still in heaven just splashing around.  My dad came over for the afternoon and we were able to go on a nice walk!

Happy Father’s Day Da-Da … I love you!!

Wow 11 months!! Amazing how fast things go by. Well we have GREAT news. Madelyn’s reflux has really decreased the last few weeks. She really only has a spitup every now and then!! And last Friday we went to the doctor and she can start on dairy. So we have been eating yogurt this week and she seems to be handling it well. We are hoping that in the next couple of months we can not only be eating all sorts of dairy, but be drinking whole milk as well as stop taking our medicine each day!! What a fabulous thought! Here are some other things she has been up to…

• Last Friday at the doctors she weighed in at 25lbs 12oz.  A big girl for sure!!
• She has been crawling all over on her belly of course
• Madelyn also has been getting on her hands and knees alot more and almost crawling from there.
• She is still taking two naps a day and sleeping from about 6:30 – 7 at night for 12 hours.
• She LOVES to be outside
• She also loves to feed herself

This month was especially difficult to take her picture… this is what the majority looked like!

The last few weeks have been very fun to watch Madelyn really try to figure out this whole crawling thing!  She really loves to explore and move around the house.  Here are a few videos to show her progress.

She took a while to get from sitting to her belly… but here is a video of one of her first times.

She is just now really starting to get up on her knees and take a few “steps” with them… but of course never when mommy has the camera out!!

We will keep taking videos as she keeps learning more and more… I have a feeling like soon I am going to have a fast little munckin crawling around the house!

Over Memorial Day Weekend we took Madelyn up to the family camp for her first time.  Camp is one of David’s favorite places and we are sure that Madelyn is going to love it as well.  We only stayed for one night this time and she actually did a great job sleeping through the night in her pack and play!!  Here are a few pictures of her first camp experience…

Madelyn is getting better and better at moving around.  She is really learning fast… it is funny it took so long for her to even try and now it seems that everyday she is doing something new.  A video that I did not post was her getting on all fours… and then these two are from today.  And on a side note I am really starting to wonder why we buy toys … as you can see there are a bunch of toys on the ground with her and she goes for David’s Mac (thankfully in its case) and the Mountain Dew bottle!
